Welcome #BSGSquad and new readers! Have you ever noticed when you get your nails done at the salon; the nail technician typically applies cuticle oil at the end of the service. This step is often done after the polish has been applied and dried. The oil is massaged into the cuticles and surrounding skin, providing a nourishing finish to your manicure.
However, when doing a DIY manicure, it's a step that many people skip because they might not realize its importance. Including cuticle oil in your at-home nail care routine can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your nails
For this month I was given a challenge by the team to apply cuticle oil 3 times a day for 7 days and here is my honest opinion and results. But before the whole shebang on cuticle oil, let's talk about some current promotions we are running for January.

WHAT IS CUTICLE OIL & ITS BENEFITS?
Cuticle oil is usually a mixture of fruit, nut and carrier oils that are good for your skin, almond, coconut, avocado, Jojoba, Vitamin E etc. The oils are typically applied to the cuticles (the skin surrounding your nails) to help nourish your skin and the nail. Cuticle oil is essential for weak nail beds, brittle or chipping nails.

Now to the challenge!
I USED CUTICLE OIL 3X A DAY FOR 7 DAYS
DAY 1: Here is what I started (pictured above) with and a bit of hand care history. My nails have consistently exhibited rapid growth, and I've maintained well-managed cuticles without experiencing issues like hangnails or chipping. I make it a habit to always wear gloves whenever I do dishes or any type of home cleaning to protect my hands and nails.
DAY 2: After applying 3X the previous day, on day 2 I noticed that my cuticles and finger tips were more nourished and the skin around my side wall and tips were softer.
Day 3: After two days of applying the oil consistently 3X a day, I noticed the cuticles around my thumb was better, the skin around the side of my fingers and tips were softer. I want to even say that my skin looks and feel plumper compared to day 1.
Day 4: I got my nails done. I'm not sure if this is considered a reset as they trimmed and clean up my cuticles. My hands here do look dryer than day 1-3. But your girl really needed a fill.
Day 5: Continued on with the challenge. Visible clean soft cuticles!
Day 6: Day 6 was similar to day 5, clean soft cuticles.
Day 7: the last day of this challenge. If I compared day 1 to day 7, I can definitely see the difference in my overall cuticles and skin. My hands were soft, hydrated and glowing. No dry skin, hang nails found anywhere.
FINAL OUTCOME & THOUGHTS
In conclusion, my cuticles didn't start off in poor condition, but I truly value the remarkable transformation they underwent during this challenge. They became incredibly smooth, soft, and plump, enhancing the overall appearance of my hands. While I intend to continue using cuticle oil, I don't believe it's necessary to apply it 3 times a day, unless someone has exceptionally dry hands and cuticles.
Personally, I found that applying cuticle oil after washing my hands, coming out of the shower, and before bedtime yielded the best results for me. It's worth noting that cuticle oil is not limited to hands; it can also be used on toes for a similar nourishing effect!

I think a rosemary scented nail oil would be a cool edition!
My daughter gave me the cutile oil for Christmas and I loved it! It smells so good and it keeps my cuticles so hydrated.
I use what I like to call “nail” oil after every hand washing. I say nail oil instead of cuticle oil cuz technically cuticles are the dead tissue that is to be removed so we’re actually moisturizing our nails n skin. I keep my own homemade organic oil in little bottles everywhere, in every purse/bag, every room and the car. This way it’s always with me and I never feel dry. My natural nails have thrived since I learned this practice from a natural nail enthusiast when I first got into nailart and doing my all the time back in 2014. My favorite scent is Vanilla!
If I could great any scent of cuticle oil it would definitely be lavender! It’s such a calming lovely scent.
I love how you committed you were to the challenge and how we could see that on day 2 there was already results AND results with picture proof!! I enjoy seeing these type of things to convince me that this is a product I need!! I am a scientist and I constantly have to wash my hands after I do anything and find my cuticles dry. I will definitely be adding the cuticle oil to my cart!
