New Year Resolutions For Healthier Nails

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that health is wealth. What better way to shift focus on practicing healthier habits than starting with your nails, since we use our hands every single day. BSG has four new year resolutions to help you get started on your journey to gorgeous looking and healthy nails.

1. Do Not Peel Off Your Polish
Whether it’s nail lacquer, gel polish, dip powder or sculpting gel, you should never be peeling product off your nails as this may cause immense damage to your natural nail plate. Picking or peeling off your product may remove layers of your nails skin cells which could cause nails to be thinner, weaker and possibly cause those unwanted ridges.

Remove your nail products gently using UNPOLISHED Gel Mask Nail Remover. A non-drip gel mask that softens nail lacquer, gel polish, dip powder or sculpting gel to allow for easy push-off removal or a buff-off removal using a Professional Gel Buffer which is an ultra-light grit.

2. Strengthen Your Nail Plates

If you have weak and brittle nail plates, we suggest to strengthen them to prevent further possible damage and breakage. BSG offers a wide range of products depending on how much strengthening you need. If you are missing your professional salon manicure, consider using our Builder Sculpting Gel in conjunction with your regular gel manicure for maximum strengthening. This product can help your nails stay flexible and have a better chance to grow. It will take time to rebuild your nails to their natural strength, but rebuild we will.

3. Hydrate and Moisturize

We’ve always been told to drink enough water and moisturize for healthy and hydrated skin - your nails and cuticles are no different. Especially after all the hand washing and hand sanitizer we’ve been using in the last year (and continue to do and use), always remember to apply hand lotion and cuticle oil to rehydrate your nails and cuticles. We are excited to share with you a brand-new product launch: vitamin enriched Nail & Cuticle Oil coming soon!

4. Protect and Prevent

If you already have strong and healthy nails then lucky you! Protect them at all cost because as we know prevention is better than cure. Use our upgraded formula of Stronger Base-1 Gel Polish to add more strengthening to your nail plates and to protect them against daily wear and tear from natural elements and cold weather, as well as tasks such as hand washing and dish washing.

Let us know in the comments below what your new year nail resolutions are! We hope these tips and resolutions help you with your health journey as we take on 2021. Wishing everyone a happy new year and great nail health.

My new year’s resolution is to be more confident in myself and my skills. I’ve started making changing to my self care routine and I make sure to get dressed and ready every day even though I’m not going anywhere lol.

My new years resolution is to not sweat the small stuff. After last year I’ve realized that there are far worse things going on in the world then some of my small problems.
