And now, it’s time to celebrate it.

Introducing the Bio Seaweed Gel Star Salon Spotlight, our brand new editorial series dedicated to honouring the incredible salons and artists who make our community shine.

Everything we do is rooted in the belief that nail professionals deserve products, education, and support they can truly rely on.

But more than that... we believe in celebrating you.

Tell us about yourself! 

My name is Kayla Butler, I’m a 27 year old Canadian. I’m a certified nail technician and aesthetician. Currently I’m working out of The Lash Co as an independent nail artist located in Windsor Ontario, Canada. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a love for nail polish, nail art, and doing nails on/for others and myself! With that being said, I got started with nails when I was really young, but I started taking it more seriously around the age of 18, I started practising more and exploring the world of professional products. That is when I discovered BSG in 2016 and made my very first purchase! I’ll never forget using shade 93 Daze for the first time and falling so in love! BSG was the first ever brand of Gel Nail Polish that I tried 10 years ago! In 2020 I grew the confidence to start offering nails to my friends and family. In 2021 I enrolled in Saint Clair College for the aesthetician program, but I knew my main focus was nails! I was working privately from 2021-2025, which is when I decided to follow my dream and make nails my full-time job! I knew it would require a lot of time and investments but when it came to product selection I always knew BSG would be it for me no matter what! Now fast forward to 2026 my salon is 100% BSG products! With over 150 colours in my still growing collection, my BSG dust collector, BSG TOWELS, and BSG apron and merch I genuinely rep BSG on the daily and I have a lot of pride using BSG products daily!

What made you continue using BSG products in your salon?

The quality of BSG products, being a nail artist who strides on natural nail health, there was no doubt that BSG was the best option for mine and my clients nail health!

What are your top 3 favourite BSG colours right now?

This was a hard decision.

What nail trends are your clients loving this season?

Anything with BSG Aura Chrome Powder! Polkadots! Cat eye! Anything using the artiste blooming gel!

A nail trend you wish would come back?

Funky Y2K nail designs! I love funky nails!!! Maybe even dare I say… crackle!!! Hehe!

What is your signature nail style or specialty?

Clean, healthy, natural nails! Hand drawn, nail art!

What advice would you give to nail techs starting their careers?

Never ever doubt yourself, use quality products, and don’t be afraid to get yourself out there! Never give up on your dreams!

What do you love most about being part of the nail community?

I love the artistic freedom, the supportive connections, and the tangible joy that it brings me!

What makes you different and why clients come back to choose you?

I take nail health very seriously, I pride myself on my ability to be able to maintain the health of your nails and cuticles while helping grow your natural nails! I’m also very fun, very kind and very personal. I love building connections with my clients and ensuring them that I listen and I care!
